I don’t use a channel manager – can I connect calendars from the likes of Expedia, booking.com, airbed etc?

The simple answer is yes. However, the process will need to be repeated with each calendar you would like to manage. You can sync calendars directly but you might prefer to choose a main calendar to act as a central point. 

Options available could be an existing booking system such as the one offered by WebDesignForAccommodation.co.uk or Google Calendar, Icloud Calendar or your Outlook Calendar. Please note these are examples and any calendar that allows 2 way Ical syncing should work.
